atombit

About

One senior architect. That is the whole company.

atombit designs, builds and supports .NET, React and PostgreSQL systems for product teams and agencies. Seven years of shipped work, two systems live and still supported, and no one between you and the person writing the code.

Rather check the claim than take it? The professional record is on LinkedIn — seven years of it, under a verified name.

01 The model

What working with one person actually means.

01

One person. Stated plainly.

atombit is not a boutique agency or a small team — it is one senior engineer. That is a real constraint: there is a ceiling on how much runs in parallel, and no cover if I am ill. It is also the entire value, because the person on your first call is the person writing your code six months later.

02

Senior-only, because that is all there is.

There is no junior pool for work to quietly land on and no account manager between you and the engineer. Nothing gets scoped by one person and estimated by another, which is where most fixed-price software goes wrong.

03

Systems that hold records people rely on.

The live work behind this studio handles identity documents, clinical records and statutory reporting. Role-scoped access, per-record permission checks and a full activity log are the default build, because adding them to a system already holding production data is far harder than starting with them.

04

Still around after go-live.

Both live systems are still supported by the person who built them, years after launch. Software gets judged on its second year, not its launch week, and the incentives are very different when you know you will still be maintaining it.

02 Engagement models

Four ways to work together.

Hourly billing is not on the list. It rewards slow work and turns every conversation into a negotiation about minutes.

Monthly retainer

A fixed number of days each month at a fixed fee. Best for ongoing product work where the roadmap moves.

Fixed scope

A defined piece of work, priced up front. Suitable only when the scope is genuinely clear — otherwise the retainer is more honest.

Agency white-label

You hold the client relationship and the branding; I build behind you. Visible on calls or entirely invisible, whichever you prefer.

Written assessment

A fixed-price review of an existing system: what the architecture is, where the risk sits, what order to fix it in. Yours to keep, with no obligation to continue.

03 Terms and limits

What you get, and what I don't do.

The second list matters more than the first. Finding out mid-project that something was never on the table wastes everyone's money.

Included by default

  • You own the code, credentials and infrastructure from the first commit.
  • Work happens in your repository and deploys to your accounts.
  • An NDA before anything sensitive is shared — yours or mine, either is fine.
  • A written assessment before I touch an existing system.
  • No proprietary framework you have to keep paying for at the end.
  • A straight answer when a project is not a good fit for one person.

Not offered

  • No teams of engineers — a project here cannot be made faster by adding people
  • No round-the-clock on-call, and no uptime figure guaranteed in a contract
  • No full-time hours overlapping a US working day
  • No mobile apps, game development or embedded firmware
  • No regulated financial licensing, legal or compliance advice

10 Next step

Let's architect the platform your business runs on.

About an hour, directly with the engineer who would do the work. We go through what exists, what is breaking and what you need next. No sales rep, no charge, and no retainer required to start — and if it is not a good fit for one person, you will hear that on the call.
